Shipwreck Skateboards started as an online skate shop around 2010. But halfway through, their business ran aground and the owner decided to focus on building his own brand. The name Shipwreck was chosen at the suggestion of a partner. No implied meaning. Just good to say and hear. Thus, was born Shipwreck Skateboards which the Malaysian scene knows today.

Shipwreck Skateboards is a brand made by skaters for skaters. It is not under the umbrella of other conglomeration companies. The owners are 100% skateboarders and the brand was developed to meet the needs of all level skateboarders. Apart from high quality skateboard decks, Shipwreck Skateboards also offers its own grip tape, trucks, wheels, bearings, bolts & nuts, shirt, cap and other accessories. This product is available directly from Shipwreck Skateboards online. But aware of their responsibility towards the ecosystem of the Malaysian skateboarding community, Shipwreck also ensures that their products are sold in other skate shops throughout Malaysia.

For the future, Shipwreck Skateboards is very concerned about the grassroots movement of the Malaysian skateboarding community. Shipwreck Skateboards also wants to start a skateboarding club program at school and universities so that interest in this sport can be nurtured from the grassroots level again. Shipwreck is a grassroots company. If we ourselves don't support the scene, how will the scene continue to support us.
