The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) is a government agency responsible for administering and enforcing customs laws, collecting customs duties, excise taxes, and other relevant taxes, as well as preventing the smuggling of goods into and out of Malaysia. In addition, JKDM facilitates trade by streamlining procedures and regulations for import and export activities. 

The department also plays a vital role in protecting national security by preventing the entry of prohibited goods such as narcotics, weapons, and explosives.
