Masjid Ulul Albab in Jerteh, Terengganu, showcases traditional Malay craftsmanship and architecture, distinct from common postmodern mosque designs. Built without onion-shaped domes, it features traditional carvings and hip roofs of varying sizes. Officiated by Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin in 2012, it has become a focal point in the area, reflecting Terengganu's thriving woodcarving industry. Inspired by Masjid Kampung Laut and Kelantanese Perabung Lima houses, its design includes a tiered pyramidal roof, a spacious prayer hall, a female prayer area, and a raised veranda. The mosque uses a reinforced concrete structure clad with chengal hardwood, with solid wood elements in key areas. Elaborate Malay carvings and songket motifs adorn its architecture. The mosque's high hip roof, finished with singgora clay tiles, and a detached minaret are notable features. The main prayer hall, elevated and linked by a staircase, offers a serene atmosphere with natural lighting and an exposed roof structure.
