This mosque was built in 1978 in Telipot Village, Kota Bharu. Originally, this mosque was known as "Telipot Mosque", taking after the name of the village where this mosque was built. The construction of this mosque was done by the Honorable Tengku Abd. Aziz Tengku Hamzah (Tengku Sri Utama Raja) the Chairman of MAIK at that time.
This mosque was built on the site of the former Agricultural Office located on Jalan Telipot, owned by the State Government. It was built to be the second Friday place for Mukim Langgar instead replacing the existing D'Raja Long Yunus Mosque, Langgar.
