The Muhammadi Mosque is a famous mosque in Malaysia in general, and in particular in Kelantan . It is a State Mosque and is located in Kota Bharu . The name of the Muhammadi Mosque was taken in conjunction with the name of Sultan Muhammad IV who greatly contributed to the State of Kelantan . It is also called ""Masjid Besar"" among some Kelantan people.
The role of the Muhammadi Mosque in the spread and education of Islam in Kelantan is very special. This is where some of Kelantan's great scholars have taught various religious knowledge. Among them are Tuan Taba (1840-1891), Haji Wan Ali Kutan (1837-1912) and Tok Kenali (1868-1933).
