This mosque was first built in 1985 and was completed and inaugurated in 1987. The name of this mosque was taken in conjunction with the name of the 2nd Sultan of Selangor, Al Marhum DYMM Sultan Ibrahim ibn Al Marhum Raja Lumu.

The site area of this mosque is 42,986 square feet and the construction cost of this mosque costs Rm 10.2 million (basic cost).

This mosque can accommodate a capacity of 1,500 worshipers at one time including the main prayer room for Muslims, the Muslim prayer room and the lower prayer room as well as the mosque lobby.
