Overview

After the existence of a village inhabited entirely by Malays, the proposal for the construction of a mosque began to be planned by the residents together with the Islamic Religious Council and State Government Officials to be submitted to YAB Menteri Besar of Perak. The application was approved and the construction process began on 9 February 1963, with the total development cost at that time estimated at RM45,000 on a plot of land measuring almost 1 acre. At the end of 1964, the construction of the building was successfully completed. This mosque building was officially named Sultan Iskandar Shah 1 Mosque, Kg. Sungai Rokam, in conjunction with its existence during the reign of Tuanku Sultan. His Majesty has also contributed a lot and played an important role in realizing the development of this mosque. On 11 December 1964, this mosque was inaugurated by YAB Dato Seri Ahmad b Said, the Chief Minister of Perak at the time. From the beginning of its construction, this mosque has reached 50 years on February 9, 2013. along with the passage of time, the need to rebuild this mosque has been studied, so that it can help strengthen unity and brotherhood in addition to providing comfort for worshipers for the following years.
