Originally this mosque was an old mosque located in the town of Parit, in Central Perak. When the community of Parit town got a new mosque in 1960, the old mosque was donated to the people of Pengkalan Pegoh village, which did not have a mosque at that time. Before the existence of this mosque, the villagers of Pengkalan Pegoh performed worship and carried out social activities in a surau located nearby. This mosque was later moved in a cooperative effort and built on a plot of land that was a former mine with an area of about 1.5 acres. This mosque was officially opened by His Highness the Raja Muda of Perak, the late Raja Idris Iskandar al-Mutawakkil Alaihi Shah II son of the late Sultan Iskandar Shah Kaddasullah in 1961.
