Al-Majidi Mosque is a qariah mosque located in the village of Sungai Layar Hujung, Sungai Petani, Kedah. Its location is 5 kilometers from downtown Sungai Petani. This mosque can accommodate approximately one thousand people.
This qariah mosque was built in 1981. Prior to this, people performed Friday prayers in the old mosque known as the Sungai Layar Hujung mosque. Now the mosque is gone. After the new mosque was built in a new location, it was named Al-Majidi Mosque, Sungai Layar Hujung.
Famous for the Yellow Mosque because its building structure is painted in yellow. On 31st January 1989, corresponding to 23 Jamadil Akhir 1409, the mosque was inaugurated by His Majesty the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah. The inauguration was completed after eight years of construction.
