Overview
Al-Jawahir Mosque was first built in 2004 on a land area of 1.6 hectares and was completed in December 2006 at a cost of RM 3.5 million (RM 2.5 million by the Central Government, RM 1 million by Mutiara Rini Sdn Bhd). The spaciousness of the prayer room that can accommodate more than 3,000 worshipers at one time, provides comfort for the worshipers to pray.
Apart from that, the Mosque is also equipped with other facilities such as the Mosque Office, Imam's Room, Bilal Room, Library, Seminar Hall, Accommodation Room, Mortuary Management Room, Meeting Room, Lecture Room, Islamic Hall, Covered Square, Officer's House, Center Slaughter and more.
Al-Jawahir Mosque was inaugurated by YAB Datuk Seri Muhammad Najib Bin Tun Abd. Razak, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, on the 19th of Ramadhan 1428 corresponding to October 1, 2007. Al Jawahir which means jewels coincides with the slogan of the mosque "Islamic Community Center of Excellence Vessel of Ummah Unity"
